On April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Quaker Valley Student Council Service Committee is holding the QV Thrift event at Chuck Knox Stadium. This is a tentative date that is dependent on weather.
The clothesline sale is meant to fundraise for an environmental organization in honor of Earth day, which will occur earlier that same week. The student spearheading much of the effort is Margaret Burns.
Throughout the spring leading up to the sale, Student Council will be collecting shoes, accessories and seasonal items. Clothes can be dropped off at the donation bins located at every Quaker Valley school in the district. So far, there has been great participation from the surrounding Sewickley Community. “It was a great surprise to see the bins at every school filled weekly,” Alex Polce, Vice President of Student Council, said. “It goes to show how willing our community is to contribute to a good cause!” If you are interested in cleaning out your closet and contributing to a cleaner earth, drop off your donations at one of the bins at QVHS.
