The Quaker Valley’s girls tennis team celebrates another successful season on and off the court, winning gold at the WPIAL Championships on Oct. 15. Under the instruction of Coaches Christi Hays and Annette Wagnerknott, the group harnessed their momentum from 2024. In regular season play, the team scored a record of 8-1 overall, leading them to playoffs in Hershey at the end of October. Varsity captains Parker Barnes, Livia Jobbins and Jane Lenhard set a standard of technical capability while also guiding underclassmen, leading the team to success.
“This is by far one of the best teams I have ever gotten to play with,” Jobbins said. “Everyone is always excited and happy to play. The energy is unmatched. We have a very strong starting team and I believe we are going far with this lineup.” Barnes also attributes the group's achievements to a strong team mentality. “Our players this year definitely carried us to winning our section and going to WPIALs because of that amazing bonding and connection we had throughout the season,” Barnes said. “I loved the bus rides to away games because we got to talk to each other and we had many fun moments together.” The Quakers are on a winning streak, now boasting seven team championships.
